Karlsruhe & Heidelberg
Almost a year after the launching of the EU One Health Campaign on biosecurity, the van came back to Karlsruhe to inaugurate the EU Vet Week 2009 in Germany. This week intends to promote the concepts of partnership and communication, the two key underlying principles of the Animal Health Strategy for the European Union (2007-2013) where "Prevention is better than cure".
The van was parked next to the train station and the zoo, enjoying a high visibility especially during the rush hours. The colours of the campaign attracted a lot of passers-by interested also in learning about the EU rules for travellers to prevent introduction or spread of animal diseases in the European Union.
After the stop in Karlsruhe, the van drove northern to Heidelberg where the public had some entertainment with the Wheel of Fortune and the quiz game. Reputation of the One Health Roadshow was prior the van’s venue in Heilderberg; lots of people have heard before about the campaign and the van visiting cities in Europe.
