6 October 2009 – KAUNAS, Lithuania
Lithuania requested the presence of the EU Roadshow van during the Conference on Animal Welfare issues organized on October 6th in Kaunas. Straight from Germany, the Roadshow arrived in Kaunas to welcome the 500 participants at the entrance of the Lithuanian Veterinary Academy.
Cooperation of the State Food and Veterinary Service of Lithuania facilitated the venue of the EU Van and the communication with the participants. Leaflets and documents about EU legislations and national rules were distributed. Even though the conference welcome people already aware of biosecurity measures, experts from the State Food and Veterinary Service could inform them more precisely about actions achieved and undertaken to protect both human and animal health from diseases.
