29 August – 5 september - AGRA Fair – Gornja Radgona, Slovenia
The international scope of AGRA Fair 2009 in Gornja Radgona was this year strongly underlined by the presence of many foreign countries as well as the European Commission. A novelty at this year's fair was the project 'Wine Slovenia Gornja Radgona', set up as a fair within a fair. Special emphasis was placed on organic and integrated crop production and breeding. Expert exhibitions and consultations emphasised topical issues such as the impact of climate change on agriculture, protection against natural disasters, novelties in the field of organic farming, the impact of water quality on human health, health enhancing organic nutrition...
The European Commission and its Roadshow stopped in Slovenia for the first time since the launching of the campaign last year in order to promote its One Health Campaign. Due to its central location, lots of people visited the stand. The European Commission’s Roadshow took certainly advantage of the reputation the Fair acquired through its previous editions thanks to a wide array of educational, peer-group and entertaining activities.
